Trivia to Kick Things Off
Which country artist famously played over 600 shows in Nashville before becoming a superstar? (Answer at the bottom. No cheating.)
Did you know?
A sweater worn by Kurt Cobain during the singer’s last photo-shoot with Nirvana sold for $75,000 at a New York auction. Also sold for $23,000 was Nirvana’s handwritten set list from an April 1990 concert in Washington, D.C., which Cobain wrote with black marker on a paper plate. Cobain had eaten some pizza before the show and preceded to write the set list on the plate he had been eating his pizza on.

Artist Focus: No Quarter
This month’s Artist Spotlight goes to No Quarter, the duo made up of Shawn Loughead and Troy White.
Back in the early days of TipSee Music, Shawn was already a good friend of the TipSee family and someone who believed in the mission early on. With the relaunch of TipSee, Dallas and Shawn recently reconnected, and it felt like the right time to spotlight what he’s been building.
Before No Quarter, Shawn had a strong run as a solo artist performing under the name Shawn David, where he built a loyal following and released several standout songs. One fan favorite, “To Whom…”, has generated more than 2 million streams, proving he knows how to connect through honest songwriting and strong melodies.

Now, Shawn has teamed up with Troy White to form No Quarter, bringing together a fresh sound and a live energy that has been turning heads around Nashville.
If you have spent time downtown lately, there is a good chance you have already seen them. You can usually catch No Quarter playing around Nashville, especially at Tin Roof Broadway on weekends, while also making appearances at Live Oak and other Nashville staples.
The duo recently released their newest song, “Too Damn Good,” and it is another strong step forward as they continue building momentum.
At TipSee, we love spotlighting artists who understand the grind and continue showing up for the live music community. No Quarter represents exactly that. Great music, strong live shows, and two guys putting in the work the right way.
Be sure to go check them out around town and give “Too Damn Good” a listen.
Podcast Spotlight: Talkin TipSee
While Talkin TipSee has recently entered a new partnership and the show is preparing to hit the road, things are a little under construction behind the scenes in the best way possible.
So while we gear up for what’s next, we wanted to throw it back to Episode 1 featuring No Quarter.
That episode set the tone for exactly what Talkin TipSee is about. Real conversations with artists who live the grind, understand the road, and know what it takes to build momentum in live music.
With new episodes, live recordings, and road content on the horizon, now feels like the perfect time to revisit where it all started.
Big things coming soon.
Song of The Month
“Zombie” by The Cranberries

Released in 1994, The Cranberries' iconic protest song "Zombie" is a stark lament against the violence of the Troubles in Northern Ireland.
After trending heavily again over the last few years, “Zombie” continues to dominate request boards across TipSee venues.
It’s one of those rare songs that somehow connects across generations. Younger audiences discovered it through social media and live covers, while older crowds already knew every word the second that guitar kicks in.
The result?
One of the biggest room changers we continue to see on the platform.
It is emotional. Loud. Nostalgic. Timeless.
And when the whole crowd screams that chorus together, you can feel exactly why certain songs never disappear.
TipSee Feature Spotlight: A Whole New Look is Coming
Big changes are happening behind the scenes at TipSee.
We are currently working on a completely new look and feel for the platform as we continue improving the fan and artist experience from the ground up.
In a move that probably surprised our team a little bit, TipSee founder Dallas Jackson has officially decided to roll up his sleeves and jump directly into designing the next generation of our UI and UX personally.
The goal is simple. Make TipSee feel faster, cleaner, more interactive, and more immersive for both fans and artists while keeping the live music experience front and center.
Here’s a sneak peek at what we’ve been working on. Let us know your thoughts. We’re building this for the live music community, and your feedback matters.

This is what modern live music should look like:
seamless for fans, profitable for artists.
Nashville Moment
“Did I sphere you right?”
Yeah, terrible joke. Moving on.
One of the biggest conversations floating around Nashville right now is the possibility of a Sphere-style entertainment venue eventually making its way to Music City.
After seeing what the Sphere has done for Las Vegas, it is not hard to imagine Nashville becoming a serious contender for immersive live entertainment experiences in the future. Between tourism, live music infrastructure, and the city’s nonstop growth, the idea honestly feels less crazy by the month.
Now whether Broadway is ready for a giant glowing music orb is another conversation entirely.
But one thing is clear. Nashville is continuing to think bigger, louder, and more experiential than ever before.

Trivia Answer
The answer is: Kenny Chesney
Before becoming one of country music’s biggest stars, Kenny Chesney famously played more than 600 shows around Nashville while grinding through the local scene and building his audience the old-fashioned way.
Proof that consistency still matters.
